LONG-FORM WORK
Core Group's long-form work, made public. Four tracks: philosophical critique, policy instrument, practice and method, long-form dialogue. Published when ready.
Philosophical critique of the categories through which conflict is analyzed. Each issue reframes a premise (an inherited binary, a vocabulary, a periodization) that the operational analysis must otherwise treat as given. The work is regional and global in scope, written from Beirut and from the post-Ottoman space, engaging the intellectual traditions that produced our categories rather than borrowing their vocabulary.
The myths a country tells itself
How Lebanon’s narratives about the conflict conceal the disagreement at its core
A nation is held together not only by its institutions but by its stories, and some of those stories are myths in the exact sense: frameworks that organise collective memory while simplifying, moralis…
Policy work grounded in the firm's operational analytical practice. Essays on the statebuilding project of Lebanon, and on the making and unmaking of states in comparable conditions, written from within the constraints, not above them. A state that can only react
Why Lebanon governs in hindsight, and who that serves
The Lebanese state does not anticipate. It waits for the collapse and then manages the debris. This is usually explained as incapacity, the result of weak institutions and chronic crisis. This issue a…
The practice examined from the inside: how human judgment and machine analysis interlock in the work, what it takes to build the instruments behind Convergence, and what each forecast and each tool teaches about the method that produced it. Where the other tracks turn outward, on conflict and on the state, this one turns in, on the craft itself.

What a state hides, and what it cannot.
Most of what a state reveals or hides is settled not by the rule but by power. In Lebanon the strong stay shielded while the displaced lie exposed, the same kind of fact locked or open depending entir…
Long-form video conversation. The format holds thinking that does not fit the page: sustained dialogue with interlocutors from across the region and across domains. Political theorists, historians, practitioners, scientists, religious thinkers, statesmen, dissidents. The firm hosts; the conversation is the interlocutor's.
